Lindsy

Lindsay Brands is originally from Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho where she spent her time playing on the lake, snow skiing, and barrel racing. From an early age she knew that a career with horses or playing professional volleyball was her goal in life. Horses won that battle. In 2007, she was accepted into the Veterinary Technology program at Yakima Valley Community College in Washington State. During her studies she worked as a Veterinary Assistant at a Pet Emergency & Trauma Center. She graduated in 2009 with her degree in Veterinary Technology and then continued her education through the American Association of Equine Practitioners and American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians (AAEP/AAEVT) and received her specialization in Equine Veterinary Technology. Lindsay moved to the Gallatin Valley and began working for Montana Equine Medical & Surgical Center in Three Forks, MT.   In 2010, she began working with Dr. Ellis Farstvedt and Dr. Mandi Holland with their Mobile Sports Medicine Team. This took her to Phoenix, AZ in the winters and Bozeman, MT in the summers for the past 2 years.  When Lindsay has free time, she barrel races, hikes, hangs out with Averi & Logan Farstvedt, skiis, and participates in defensive pistol shooting competitions.

Why she chose to become an Equine Veterinary Technician?

“In my opinion, I have the world’s best job. My greatest passion is anything to do with horses. To be able to go to work every day and just be in their presence is a successful day to me. I get to work on world class equine athletes and also develop relationships with their jockeys and owners. To be able to work for Performance Equine Specialists and see our patients and clients go on to win some of the greatest titles in the horse world has been so rewarding. I love being a part of the team that helps make the equine performance horse world go ‘round!”
